Life Cycle of a Butterfly
May 18, 2001

Assignment Information:

To prepare your child for second grade, we are going to be doing an end of the year project.  Through the month of May, we will be discussing and observing the life cycle of a butterfly. The first grade final project will be a poster, chart or diorama which includes a detailed picture of the life cycle of a butterfly and an explanation of each part. Each explanation must be at least three sentences long.   The "art" portion of this project can be made with markers, glitter, felt, fabric, or anything you can find at home.  Be Creative!

This project is to be completed at home.  We will continue to learn about the life cycle in school, but I also encourage you to help your child find information about this topic.  Other sources include the computer, magazines, informative videos, etc.

The projects are due May 18.  Please do not send them in before this date.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at (248) 489-3808.  Have fun!
